The effective implementation of ISO 9001 gives your company the great competitive advantage.
It demonstrates that you have the discipline to identify, understand and fully implement your customers’ needs, requirements and expectations. It helps to effectively drive down waste and production costs, while providing the high quality your customers expect. Its process approach allows you to increase your customers’ satisfaction while consistently providing product and/or services that meet customer and applicable regulatory requirements. By providing this visible commitment to your customers, you increase their confidence in your company and your product. It also serves as an effective marketing tool to bring in new customers.
ISO 9001:2008 emphasizes a process approach, customer satisfaction, a “plan-do-check-act” cycle, and the continual improvement of the management system. Certification helps ensure that customers get consistent, good quality products and services. For more information visit: www.webstore.ansi.org or www.iso.org

VCAP – Verified Conformity Assessment Program
The Verified Conformity Assessment Program (VCAP) is a program that was developed by the National Conference on Weights and Measures to verify that load cells produced by a manufacturer meet the same environmental influence factor standards as the actual load cells evaluated under the National Type Evaluation Program. Compliance with the VCAP ensures the load cell purchaser that the load cell has been produced under an audited quality management system and has been tested to verify its compliance with the environmental requirements listed in the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Handbook 44. Periodic third party audits confirm that the quality management system remains compliant.
The intent of VCAP is to provide a level of assurance to manufacturers and customers that such devices perform to the original expectations and requirements which were accepted for NTEP Certification.
- Applies to NTEP Certificate of Conformance holders
- Protects the Integrity of the NTEP Cert of Conformance
- Provides a focused review on device testing performance
- Includes many aspects of quality management systems
- Organizations may leverage existing ISO 9001 processes and procedures
What are the benefits of VCAP Certification?
- Ensures equity and assurance for on-going NTEP Certification
- Provides management system structure for business continuity and growth
- Provides accountability for device testing and performance
- Drives consistency, competence and control
- Creates a competitive advantage for organizations

SN 9001* – Snow Removal
ISO 9001/SN 9001 – The Accredited Snow Contractors Association announced it has received constructive positive feedback from users about its recently launched “ASCA Certified” program. Certification is more than a piece of paper to hang on the wall. It is the fuel that allows companies to continue educating themselves as to industry best practice in use across North America
ASCA Certified, along with the ISO 9001/SN 9001 third-party certification programs, are tools contractors can use to increase their professional profiles in their respective markets, as well as raise awareness for the industry as a whole. Participation in any activity which promotes the professional snow and ice management contractors’ ability to set them apart from all the rest is a good thing. This does not just pertain to one individual within an organization, but higher level commitment must be a company-wide activity, if it is to permeate the consciousness of the company culture.
